Our New...

VACUUM!!!  Our old vacuum just wasn't cutting it anymore.   After 5 moves, it probably deserves a break.  And J needs to have a clean floor (we all do, but the rest of us are old enough not to put every little thing we see into our mouths).  Our new vacuum?  WOW! It picks up EVERYTHING!  It's a breeze to push (it almost pushes itself!).  We won't be stepping on pine needles (left over from our Christmas tree and hidden in the carpet.  And I have vacuumed since Christmas, many times) anymore!  Besides which, I love the color!  N really wanted the purple vacuum.  A just wanted to leave the store (too much noise).  Until we found the toy table, and then he didn't want to leave the store.

Sunflower Seeds

I started a spring sensory bin for my kiddos.  I used sunflower seeds for the filler and had a TON left.  So, not wanting to it to go to waste, I bought a bird feeder last Saturday.  We immediately hung it up and the kiddos watched for birds.  I explained to them that it would take a while for the birds to know that we have food for them.  Today, they came!  I don't know what kind they are, but the male (?) has a touch of red on his head and chest.  The female (?) is all brown.  At one point, there were 4 of them in our tree!  Hooray for sunflower seeds!

Say Cheese!

Taking pictures of our kiddos is one of my favorite pastimes.  Truly.  N has turned into a bit of a goof-ball in front of the camera, but it's still fun.  Lately, I've been trying to get a picture of all 3 of them together.  Something frameable.  3 kiddos.  All together.  A 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 6 month old.  I'm still trying.  A is usually the one that doesn't want to have anything to do with it.  He's semi-fine with me taking his picture alone (the other day, he wanted me to take his picture.  He wanted to pose and told me where he was going to sit.  So fun!).  The one time that he wants to cooperate? J doesn't.  Our nice little, go-with-the-flow girl, who smiles whenever someone looks at her?  Screaming.  I'm going to keep trying.  Even if it takes until they're 30.

And then came...

Winter.
Snow.  6 inches (at least).
But it's gone again.  And spring is back once more.
Green things are growing.
Anyone have any idea what this is going to turn into?  I'm extremely curious!

It's Here!

Spring!  It was so nice outside that the kiddos and I had fun playing for nearly two hours.  We first visited the elementary school next door, since there wasn't school today.  The kiddos had fun on the slides and swings.  Then when J got tired, we came home, laid her down for a nap, and went out to enjoy our yard.  And this is what N found!  I have no idea what kind of flower they will be, but they're coming up!  One of the things I love most about moving is seeing what kind of plants are in your yard.  I remember in NC seeing new plants almost a year after we moved into our house.  And it was nearly a year after that when I learned what they were!  I'm so excited for spring!  Now we just need to build a fence...
